Lisa's take on restaurants in Baraboo. Enjoy!
(* have good vegetarian options)
*Tumbled Rock (by Devil's Lake)
Brew pub, outdoor seating, live music in summer, woodfired pizza, very good beer made onsite (and I'm picky). Family friendly!
*Little Village Cafe (downtown Baraboo)
Casual dining, vintage cafe styling, chef studied with Julia Child.
*Driftless Glen (Baraboo on Water Street)
Date night, great steaks, signature cocktails (don't miss the Blackberry Old Fashioned!), artisan bourbon flights. Great steak.
*Draft City Tap Room (Baraboo, intersection of 8th street and Hwy BD). Yes, Baraboo has a wonderful taproom with highly rated food to boot! https://draftcitytaproom.com
*Cheez Factory (downtown Baraboo)
Highly rated vegan restaurants. Go there even if you aren't vegan!
Quindt's Town Lounge (in Baraboo by the city pool)
Local and bustling supper club with good fish fry. Amazing panfried walleye!
Fitz's on the Lake
Casual lakefront dining. Take the Merrimac ferry to this supper club on lake Wisconsin. (about 30 minutes away)
Off the beaten path, but well worth it the short 25 minute drive! Famous for flat iron steak and $3 old fashioned (brandy of course, you're in Wisconsin!)
Home cooking, good breakfast and lunch. Excellent fish fry! A local favorite
for early fish fry. Closed Tues-Wed. Thurs-Mon open until
3. Friday open until 7 for fish fry
*Bella Vita Cafe (coffee house open Tues-Sat 7-1)
Amazing cinnamon buns. Daily quiche and frittata always satisfying
Cool diner with good breakfast. Open daily 7-3
Cracker Barrel like restaurant. Good breakfast.
Nautical Coffee, downtown
Street tacos, great salsas, margaritas, counter service. My favorite!
Table service, festive atmosphere
Awesome burger or Philly cheesesteaks at townie bar (divey in a good way) in
Baraboo Burger Company
Good burger, great tap beer lineup.
Gem City Saloon
Great pizza in Baraboo at neighborhood bar. If you don't know what fried cheese curds are, you can learn here!
